Instead of removing balloons of the same size from the playing area, a player in Pop Balloon must remove balloons of several different sizes. There is no unique balloon, arrow, or bullet used as the projectile. Instead, a player must make use of a black, sharp, three-pointed missile resembling a shuriken from Japan.
Every time the player completes a level, they are given coins that may be used to open up new levels. In the upper right corner of the screen, the game shows the total on a green bar. Additionally, the Victory screen mini-game and watching advertisements are other ways for the player to earn cash. By touching the home button, they can go to all of the Shop's options and levels.
